Before You Take Your Exam

Technical Requirements

You will need the following.

• A stable broadband connection with a minimum of 10 Mbps download speed
  • Important: Before using Exams from Home, we strongly encourage all users to test their bandwidth to verify it is adequate and ensure the session will not be interrupted. A reputable third-party site you can use is www.speedtest.netconduct an identity/environment check during your session, that could exceed the 10 Mbps baseline requirement. Ensure other members of your household are offline during the bandwidth test and during your actual exam session. We use Zoom to communicate and perform an identity/environment check during your session. Ensure this won't exceed the 10 Mbps baseline specified in the requirements.
• Laptop or Desktop with Windows 10, Windows 11, or Mac OS X Sonoma 14.x or higher
• Chromebook with a current operating system (OS)
• A webcam
• A keyboard and mouse (This is not compulsory, but is advised for ease of navigation)
• Google Chrome as your internet browser
• A screen resolution of at least 1280 × 800
• Only one monitor is connected (if you need to use a larger screen, you can use a second monitor but the display needs to be set to extended and not
• Your device must not be in Windows S Mode
• Although Exams From Home can be used with a Windows, Mac, or Chromebook computer, the virtual machine that you connect to for all exams will be Windows-based. 
• The Exams From Home Secure Browser for Windows and Mac is not an installed program, it’s a few files temporarily running in memory during the session and should not require Admin Rights to execute. However, permissions or parental access controls could be implemented within a browser (or security software) to prevent browser downloads or the execution of program files, and such permissions would need to be relaxed temporarily to allow this to occur. For Chromebooks, the app is installed locally, and managed devices may require the app to be allowed to install or be pre-installed by an IT Admin.

Tip
If you use a VPN or antivirus software, it is recommended to disable it during the exam.

Applications Used During the Exam

Your exam uses two applications.

1. Zoom
   Used by the proctor to supervise your exam. You may join Zoom on a second device, such as a mobile phone. This keeps your exam device clear for the exam application software)
2. Certiport Virtual Learning Environment
   Used to complete the exam on your main computer. The proctor will provide this link on the day of the exam, either before or at the start of the exam session. 

Additional Requirements

Identification

You must present valid photo identification.

• Passport
• Driving licence
• PPSN card

Certiport Account

You must have a Certiport account before your exam.

• If you already have an account, ensure you know your username and password
• If you do not have an account, create one at https://app.certiport.com/portal/
• Ensure you register for the correct programme

Exam Environment

• Use a quiet and private space
• Allow at least 40 minutes before the exam start time for setup
• No other devices are permitted except the phone used for Zoom
• Notes, paper, pens, and recording devices are not allowed
• Close all other applications and browser windows

How to Book Your Certiport Exam

1. Open the exam booking calendar (sent by Cenit College) using the link provided in your booking email. You can book your exam once you have completed all the coursework and the Test Preparation section of your course. 
2. Enter the password provided in the email
3. Select an available date and time
4. Complete all required booking information
5. Select Book Now

You will receive confirmation and reminder emails. Please check your spam folder.

NOTE

The exam will not appear in your Certiport account as scheduled. You are booking with our test centre, as they are not linked. 

Cancelling an Exam

If you cannot attend your scheduled exam and are within the cancellation window, email:
