Microsoft Office trial message
You may see a message saying that Microsoft Office is at the end of a trial period.
This usually means Microsoft Office is not signed in with the correct account.
For your course, Microsoft Office must be signed in using the eCollege account provided to you, not a personal Microsoft account.
Check your username
Your eCollege Microsoft Office username should look similar to the example below.
Example username
ec.learnerXXXX@ecollege.onmicrosoft.com
The numbers will be different for each learner.
You must use this username, not a personal email address.
Steps to fix the issue
- Open any Microsoft Office application such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
- Check the top right corner to see if you are signed in.
- If you are signed in, sign out completely.
- Close the Microsoft Office application.
- Reopen the application.
- Sign in using the eCollege username provided to you.
- Enter the password provided with your course access.
Do not sign in using a personal account such as Outlook, Hotmail, or Gmail.
Once signed in with the correct eCollege account, the trial message should no longer appear.
If the trial message still appears
If you are still seeing the trial message after signing in with the correct details, please contact Support.
When contacting Support, include the following information.
- Which Microsoft Office application are you using, such as Word or Excel
- Whether you are using Office online or installed on your computer
This will help the Support team assist you more quickly.
