What this page is for

This article helps you check that your device, browser, and internet connection are ready for your eCollege course.

Completing these checks before you begin can help prevent access or performance issues later.

If you have already started your course and need help with course content, please contact your Tutor.

Getting started

Before you begin your eCollege course, it is important to complete a few basic technical checks.

These checks will help ensure that your course content opens correctly and runs smoothly.

Important: If you have already started your course, your first point of contact for help should be your Tutor.

Step 1 Check your browser compatibility

Run the eCollege browser compatibility checker

This tool checks whether your browser and system settings are compatible with the eCollege Moodle platform.

You can ignore any Java warnings shown during this check, as they are not always relevant.

Step 2 Check your internet speed

 Check your internet speed

You need at least 5 MB download speed to run your course smoothly.

Please note
Mobile broadband dongles are not recommended as they can be unstable and may affect course access or progress.

Step 3 Install or update Adobe Reader

 Download Adobe Reader

Adobe Reader is used to open PDF documents within your course.

If you already have Adobe Reader installed, no action is required.

Step 4 Allow pop ups for eCollege

Watch how to allow pop ups for eCollege and related sites

Some course content opens in new windows. Pop ups must be allowed for the eCollege site to ensure everything works correctly.

You can allow pop ups only for specific sites. You do not need to enable them for all websites.
